  47. Yes, but my 28mhz 030 toaster system isn't worth upgrading. Perhaps I should 
  48. RENT 3.5 until lw4.0 finally ships. As well, $500. for 3.5 plus $140 puts me 
  49. at about lw4.0 street price. So, where is the incentive? If I can use 3.5 on 
  50. my slow amiga then I have a decent incentive to buy now - and will do so if 
  51. the policy is stated upfront. True, the amount of money is insignificant if 
  52. one is producing for the commercial market; however, being with a University 
  53. and on  a shoestring budget - and considering 3Dstudio IS already available 
  54. and is on it's second release with distributed network rendering, and already 
  55. has numerous third party plug-ins - and is also available for $995 
  56. educational (NetTek should undercut AutoDesk's educational pricing, after all 
  57. the educational market is what fueled Apple's success! unlike C=  : )...  or 
  58. at least make the upgrade path for the faithful attractive. So what if my 
  59. punky (1987) amiga has a 3.5 version on it - NewTek looses nothing - except 
  60. the possibility of a few less customers.
